The University of Warsaw is the biggest and best university in Poland. It was founded in 1816 and its community (including employees) consists of around 58000 people. The university offers 20 English language programs and within the Polish language programs around 2000 courses are taught in foreign languages.
There are 21 faculties at the university where one can study everything from chemistry, mathematics, through languages, law, journalism to management and international relations. Studies at the University of Warsaw hold high positions in international rankings, such as the Times Higher Education World University Ranking and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (also known as the Shanghai Ranking). Erasmus Student Network at the University of Warsaw (ESN UW) supports all the exchange students and offers them a variety of activities to enrich their stay in Warsaw.
There are many working groups dedicated to organizing events like karaoke nights, tandem evenings, museum visits, cooking lessons, sport activities and trips around Poland and Europe. ESN UW consists of students – volunteers from the University of Warsaw.
